Jennifer's Review of Unsettled by Alisa Mullen

Synopsis:
Lizzie O’Malley, a 23-year-old free spirit, is on a mission to find her purpose in life. In the summer of 2000, she returns home to Boston to begin a life that she can be proud of. On her first night out on the town, tragedy strikes and she finds herself the cause of the emotional wreckage. Instead of dealing with the consequences, she loses herself in a man she met that night.

Teagan Gallagher, a 22-year-old college student from Ireland, spends that same summer in Boston, working towards his degree and partying his way through the city. One night, he finds a beautiful American girl that he is desperate to spend the summer with.

Together, Teagan and Lizzie learn the ins and outs of an unconventional relationship. It isn't until their relationship is in too deep that it becomes impossible for either to run away.
Review:

****4 out of 5 stars****
Lizzie meets a group of hot Irish guys and spends the summer falling in love with one of them knowing that she can't keep him. She and Teagan spend the summer together making memories that will last them a lifetime once he is gone back to Ireland at the end of the summer. But, sometimes fate has plans that we don't see coming.

Knowing this book was written about the author's real life made me kind of wary.  I have read books written by other authors about their real life experiences and I hadn't found one that I really liked until now. This one was really good. I don't know whether to tell the author to take a bow for a job well done or hug her for living through it.

You don't see the twists coming and I could actually feel Lizzie. I felt what she felt. I could understand the things she did because I had been there and done that. I love a story that I can feel and get emotionally involved with.

This story takes you on a journey through a period of the author's life that was obviously difficult and heart wrenching. You can tell that even years later the love and pain is still there. This isn't your typical love story.

I have already purchased the next book in the series and can't wait to see where life leads Lizzie next.
