“Fairytales aren’t always easy… But it’s the ones that endure the most and come out victorious that have the best endings…”
I knew this series was going to be special as I devoured each book in turn and savoured them for their unique storyline, complex characters and sarcastic, caustic wit. This is the final installment where all questions are answered through an emotional, roller coaster ride of a climax. If you haven’t read the previous books, drop this one and start at the beginning. You will be glad you did.
Sidney and Simon have gone through so much already. Separated for years they found each other once again. Amidst the chaos of their tangled, maddening, frustrating and wonderfully loyal family and friends they are challenged to be honest to themselves and each other. Appearances are not always what they seem and betrayal is not new to them. Beginning and ending with life-threatening events they must make choices that may separate them forever. Will their love carry them through the danger they face? Will their family rally to support them or be the tools to shatter their love once and for all?
The final book in this series blew me away! As usual, the twists keep coming one after the other delivered in a sarcastic tone that made the love more poignant and the craziness seem oh so normal. Entertaining is a mild way of saying the author kept me on the edge of my seat and furiously reading page after page. If I heard the plot explained in the barest of detail I would be probably wondering what soap opera this was pulled from but the telling is made authentic and real by great storytelling, natural dialogue and a host of characters that are likable and smackable at the same time.
This author has bubbled to the top of my stalker list. Five bright shining stars!
Emersyn Vallis is a first time author with Adjournment being the first book in the Fated Series. Currently residing on the east coast with her husband and three children she is typically mistaken for being quiet and reserved her friends often describe her as a spastic spider monkey and always the first to be there with her quick wit to pull you back up when you’re feeling down. After reading as a hobby for most of her life it wasn’t until she had discovered R. L. Mathewson’s ‘Neighbor from Hell Series’ and Tara Sivec’s ‘Playing with Fire Series’ that she came up with the idea to fuse comedy and suspense together and her passion for writing was born.
Emersyn Vallis is definitely an Author I will be watching for and can't wait to read more from her. ~ Swoon Worthy Books
