Breaking Free by Alexis Noelle
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Recovery is slow but the relationship travels at the speed of sound….
Holly James has suffered a great trauma and is not dealing with the aftermath very well. Hiding her struggles as much as she can she has pulled away from her family and friends. Dragged out of her self-imposed exile, Holly meets Drew Walker, a rock star and self-professed “love and leave ‘em” kind of guy.
“How is it possible to hate someone’s guts and want to jump their bones at the same time?”
Drew is instantly attracted to Holly and the feeling is mutual. Their relationship goes from 0 to 100 in seconds flat and no one is more surprised and shocked than Holly. Unable to bear anyone’s touch she is astounded that she not only tolerates it, but craves, the closeness that Drew is happy to provide. The chemistry between the two is undeniable and despite one issue after another they gravitate back to each other again and again. The timeline is short, very short, so the back and forth between the two has the drama level on overdrive. Is it lust on first sight? Could it be love? It’s hard to tell with so much angst and turmoil. I want to believe these two are going to make it for the long haul but have little to base it on. I guess I want to know more of the why behind it all.
Overall a good, sexy, quick read.
