Resurrection River by Lindsay Cross

Real love can never be wrong…
This is the second in a series centered on a group of friends, brothers in arms, who are members of an elite military task force. The groundwork for this story was started in the first so I would recommend reading the first installment before tackling this one.
Ranger James has been in love with Rachel Carter for a long time though he hadn’t told her and would never have told her except… Her husband, his best friend, is dead. Murdered on a mission gone horribly wrong. Ranger’s feelings of guilt are only compounded as Rachel struggles with so many problems – money, family, life. He wants to be there for her in more than just a strong shoulder and friendly hand, he wants it all!
Do not read this book if you dislike excellent story-telling, a flair for the dramatic and action in and out of the bedroom. Oh, and men and women who are strong and vulnerable at the same time. This author finds that wonderful balance where action and suspense, love and emotion mix together into a story that strikes each note perfectly. Ranger and Rachel have so much going against them it’s a wonder they can even believe they had a snowball’s chance to make it work. With family from hell and twists and turns that create new stumbling blocks all the way along (and some are doozies!) it’s a wonder they don’t quietly avoid each other on the street. But, that’s the way of love and these two make it not only worthwhile but worth everything.
Another great addition to a series that is definitely on my “best of the year” list! And there are at least 6 more members of this team – I can’t wait.
