Perfectly Imperfect by Harper Sloan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Perfectly Imperfect is a beautifully poignant and inspiring story of self acceptance and love. While this may be a romance, the most important aspect of this book is Willow's personal journey. It was real and raw and very emotional.
Willow has been hurt. The person she once was has been chipped away, first by cruel and hateful words and the actions of others and then by her own negative thoughts and insecurities. She's slowly trying to change her thinking and self perception but it's a daily struggle.
Movie star and director, Kane Masters, meets Willow on one of her worst days. While she is falling apart, Kane steps in to help the beautiful woman who has him intrigued. Can Kane prove to Willow that she is beautiful and sexy? Will Willow ever be able to see herself as someone worthy? Can their relationship survive when their personal lives and relationship takes center stage in the media?
Perfectly Imperfect is a story that will resonate with its readers. No one is perfect, we have flaws, things we'd like to change. Willow was relatable and strong and brave. I loved watching her grow and develop throughout the story.
While the relationship between Kane and Willow may not have been the main focus of the story, it certainly added to it; it helped to illustrate the changes in Willow as well as adds a sweet and steamy element. I loved these two together. Kane was such a sexy alpha and he brought Willow out of her shell. They brought the best out in each other, together they really shined.
This was an emotional charged read. It had me laughing, cursing, crying, and swooning. Harper Sloan has delivered, yet another must read novel!
