Diane's Review ~ Fighting Dirty by Sidney Halston

Fighting Dirty (Worth the Fight, #5)Fighting Dirty by Sidney Halston
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Never judge a book completely by its cover…

“…and he was being someone else tonight. Actually, he wasn’t being someone else. He was being himself—only the ‘himself’ he never allowed out.”

And that’s really the crux of life, isn’t? Finding out who you really are and what makes you tick and be happy. Enzo Silva grew up privileged but that came at a cost. From a wealthy banking family, up until now he had done exactly what was expected of him but he craved to fight in the MMA professional circuit. That didn’t exactly go with the three piece suit persona. Neither did Jamie Lynn Calhoun, his best friend’s sister. Or did she?

We have no say in who we are born as or how we are raised but how we react and adapt is all up to us. Choices. We face them every day and nowhere is that more noticeable than in the story of Enzo and JL. Enzo is at a crossroads and, whether she knows it or not, JL is going to be key in the path he takes. Handsome, and a dirty-talker in training, what’s not to like about this sexy man who also has empathy and compassion. Not much, actually. JL is upbeat and positive though dealing with demons of her own, quietly and without fanfare. The two together click and through trust and sharing reveal more and more of themselves to each other. The more I know the more I like as they both prove to be more than their already likable selves.

There is drama for sure, and no one is perfect – who in life is – but I love how nothing is overdone or out of place. It’s hard to open yourself to another so completely and honestly but the reward can more than we ever dreamed…

Sexy, funny and emotional, a great story to curl up with and renew your faith in love….
