The Bachelor Auction by Rachel Van Dyken
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Jane is your modern day Cinderella, taking care of her sisters. She feels responsible for them after losing their parents. They're certainly old enough to care for themselves, but they're too busy having fun. They're mean, spiteful and hateful. I felt horrible for her, and on more than one occasion wanted to shake her and tell her to stop being so darn nice!
Brock was very similar in the fact that he was the responsible one, caring for his brothers after the death of their parents. Their was an instant connection between himself and Jane, but he just couldn't let go anywhere. Some fun before he's forced to marry someone else? Why not? Nothing could possibly go wrong there.
I loved the banter between the two. I couldn't stand Brock at first, he was rude and arrogant. Once he started to redeem himself, I came around. Between his brothers and grandfather, and then grandma Nadine all being involved, the comedy level was up there. I loved Jane throughout the book, especially once she found her backbone where her sisters were involved. It was amazing how different Jane and Brock were, yet how much they really had in common. It was time for them to stop giving all of themselves and start living their lives and going after what they wanted. Rachel did an amazing job with this book, much like all of her others. Of you're looking for a good romcom look no further!
