Dirty Secret by Chelle Bliss
My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars
"There isn't a single person in my life that knows all of me. Everyone has pieces and parts, but nobody gets the full picture."
Sexy, intriguing and actually a real fun read.
I did not read the book that came before this one and while I want to go back and read it now because I liked those characters, it is not necessary to have read it prior to this one. You get the full picture of what is going on and enough information about what happened to feel like you are not missing anything.
In this book we have Kennedy, undercover bada$$, working a club that plays host to some pretty nefarious characters. Her mission is to get information on one man in particular, except there is another who she catches the eye of.
Phoenix, is an independent criminal, a hacker extraordinaire and ridiculously sexy. (I might have a thing for hackers) He knows not to get involved with this pretty little thing with her risque outfits and lip ring. He knows it is a bad a idea but he will be careful, or so he thinks.
Over the next several chapters we have some hot sexual tension, missions getting changed, and people going missing. It was the kind of book that kept you on the edge of your seat waiting to see how this could all play out. Criminals and law-enforcement tend not to work very well together and this story was a fresh take on the bad guy vs. good guy scenario. I liked that while our characters each had their own voice their story fit together and didn't seem to be written by two people. I look forward to going back and read the first story by these two and of course whatever they put out in the future.
