Blackwood by Celia Aaron
My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It was a nice mix of mystery, scandal, hot chemistry, you name it this book had it.
Elise needs to dig on the Blackwood Estate to finish her thesis for college, but getting the mysterious Mr. Blackwood to agree seems difficult. Once she's started doing research all sorts of secrets come out to play. She isn't only there for school, but also to find out what happen to her father.
Blackwood knows "Red" falsely got his permission to be on his land, but for some reason he lets her stay after she is attacked by a boar. During the time it takes her to heal they are both curious to know more. He lets her ask questions, snoop around his house, and they both test their limits for each other. Why she is really there, why does he seem to be a recluse....you know the normal for a creepy town.
Someone finds out that Elise is digging and can't let her continue. People are now after her, but she keeps going with the help of Blackwood himself. He also sees that things are not as they should be and he has questions of his own.
Will the secrets of this small town be revealed or will they stayed buried?
