Dishonorable by Natasha Knight
My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars
This is not my first book by this author and at first I did feel some similarities with Salvatore but then the prologue ended and the story began and a whole new story transformed before my eyes. This book had a lot of push and pull, vengeance, light vs dark, mixed feelings and tormented emotions.
Raphael is a dark and tortured soul. He has one goal and it is to bring an end to pain that was caused by others. He is ruthless in his dealings and only wants what he believes he is owed. His way to get all that is to take Sofia as his payment.
Sofia has never been held grand illusions about where her life would end up, she was shipped off to school and now she is being shipped off to Tuscany with a dark and beautiful man. While she is young and perhaps naive about what has transpired with her family's name, she is no wall flower. She accepts her life and tried to make it work but with all of the mixed signals and unanswered questions she finds herself moving backwards.
This book has some suspense and dirty dealings and trying to figure out who really holds all of the cards. It is also intense with raw emotions and mixed feelings. It is sexy in a dirty yet emotional kind of way. The honesty that comes from the characters when their walls are stripped bare is something that can be felt inside your soul. My heart bled for Raphael and you could see glimpses of hope and light in Sofia. This was a well written story that was one I didn't want to put down and there was also some hinting at maybe another story in the future.
