        A Letter from Liliana Hart:
Dear Readers,

I’m thrilled to announce the MacKenzie Family World is returning! I asked four of my favorite authors to create their own characters and put them into the world you all know and love. These amazing authors revisited Surrender, Montana, and through their imagination you’ll get to meet new characters, while reuniting with some of your favorites.

These stories are hot, hot, hot and packed with action and adventure—exactly what you’d expect from a MacKenzie story. It was pure pleasure for me to read each and every one of them and see my world through someone else’s eyes. They definitely did the series justice, and I hope you discover four new authors to put on your auto-buy list.

Make sure you check out Spies and Stilettos, a brand new, full-length MacKenzie novel written by me. This will be the final installment of the MacKenzie series, featuring Brady Scott and Elena Nayal. After eighteen books of my own and nine books written by other bestselling authors in the MacKenzie World, it’s going to be difficult to say goodbye to a family I know as well as my own. Thank you for falling in love with the MacKenzies.

So grab a glass of wine, pour a bubble bath, and prepare to Surrender.

Love Always,
Liliana Hart

SPIES & STILETTOS - Liliana Hart

Liliana Hart’s SPIES & STILETTOS (A MacKenzie Family Novel)

New York Times bestselling author Liliana Hart returns to her bestselling MacKenzie family with her trademark of “Passionate Romantic Suspense & Spine-Tingling Mystery” in SPIES & STILETTOS…

Elena Nayal has worked for MacKenzie Security for years. Quiet and unassuming, she stays in the shadows of the world’s most elite clandestine agency. But she’s trained relentlessly after hours, and her only thought is to be strong enough to track down and kill every last one of the men who brutally attacked her.

Lieutenant Brady Scott is no stranger to special ops. He commands the greatest SEAL team in the history of America. But fighting for the woman he loves turns out to be the most difficult mission he’s ever been on. He must decide whether to let her walk into a suicide mission on her own, or ignore every rule he’s sworn to follow.

Amazon ** Barnes and Noble ** Kobo ** iBooks ** GooglePlay

This was a lot of action and suspense with a lot of players all rolled into one novella.

Elena has been part of the MacKenzie family since they saved her seven years ago, but she has not quite gotten over what happened to her and never quite felt at home. Now she is being sucked back into the life she escaped and things are about a bit dangerous.

Brady has been in love with Elena basically since he was part of the team that saved her, she just has no clue. When he finds out that she is in trouble, nothing is going to stand in his way to help her. Not rules, not feelings, not family.

This book has a lot of players and people involved. Having read much of this collection I didn't feel like I was lost but I did feel like I was missing some background. It didn't take away from my enjoyment, but there were times that I struggled to place everyone where they belonged in the family tree. Also, this book was less romance and way more action packed. It was an adrenaline rush from the beginning all the way through the end. Based on who these characters were, it made sense that there was almost no heat factor but it was a missed piece. But...had there been a lot of heat it would not have held true to how Elena was (or was not) coping with her own history. nor what kind of person Brady is.

I did really enjoy the end and the all of the pieces of this series coming together in one snap shot.

  NEVER SURRENDER - Kaylea Cross

Kaylea Cross’s NEVER SURRENDER (A MacKenzie Family Novella)

New York Times bestselling author Kaylea Cross dives into Liliana Hart’s MacKenzie family with NEVER SURRENDER…

As the Bagram crew assembles at a guest ranch in Montana to celebrate the wedding of two of its own, everyone expects a fun week-long vacation enjoying some much-needed downtime together. But in the picturesque foothills bordering the ranch, a hidden danger lurks.

When the guys stumble upon evidence of a domestic terrorist cell during the bachelor party, it puts everyone directly in the crosshairs of a lethal enemy determined to remain unseen, unleashing a wave of danger every bit as deadly as what they faced back overseas. Then a shocking revelation from the past comes to light, and it may be the key to winning the fight. Now they must come together as a team to eliminate the threat, before they wind up gathered for a funeral instead of a wedding.

Amazon ** Barnes and Noble ** Kobo ** iBooks ** GooglePlay

What an action packed novella, when a group of friends gather in Surrender for a wedding I don't think they ever expected to uncover terrorist activies. I mean, it was supposed to just be a nice relaxing wedding.

This book had a lot of characters and because I have never this author before at first I did have a hard time keeping track of who was who and how they came to be at the wedding. But quickly I figured out the important characters and we know that Candace and Ryan have yet to realize their happily ever after. Both being member of the armed services, in different capacities has definitely taken a toll on this couple. That being said, when they do get to connect, there is not a lot of talking to be had.

This was a good little snippet into this world that is already in progress and this book was well written and super engaging I am going to have to check out the other books in this series. I am a huge fan of the MacKenzie's so it was nice for the cameos that took place. There is not a lot of downtime in this book, there is a lot of action, some heat, a few laughs and a story all packed into a little package. This was my first of the MacKenzie family novellas and I can't wait for more.

  AVENGED - Jay Crownover

Jay Crownover’s AVENGED (A MacKenzie Family Novella)

New York Times bestselling author Jay Crownover brings heat and heart to Liliana Hart’s MacKenzie family with AVENGED…

Girl meets boy…

On the worst night of her life when she’s decided to take a drastic step that there is no going back from.

Girl is used to sitting by, letting fate deal cruel hand after cruel hand to good people with soft hearts and she’s had enough.

Girl thinks it’s time to fight back against fate and against men who aren’t careful with all the precious things a woman in love has to give him.

Fate shows girl who’s boss and turns her world and plans upside down without breaking a sweat.

Boy meets girl…

On the best night of his life when he’s decided that he’s going to make moves to be the man he was always meant to be instead of the man he was trained and conditioned to be.

Boy is used to a solitary life, quiet in the woods and knowing the only thing that might be looking for him is trouble and trouble is no longer his stock in trade.

Boy thinks it’s time to show trouble who’s boss, even if this trouble has big blue eyes and a body made to make men stupid. Trouble only gets the upper hand if the boy falls prey to its temptation.

Trouble turns the boy’s quiet, serene life sideways without any effort.

Trouble is fun and fate has a wicked sense of humor when it comes to this boy meeting this girl.

This was another first time author for me but as I am a big fan of the MacKenzie series and have heard nothing but great things about Jay Crownover, I dove right in. Now since I don't know these characters I got to come at them with fresh eyes and no background. As a result, I found a new author and a whole bunch of books I need to read.

Echo has had terrible past number of months only to crash in the middle of nowhere. And to be saved by a big bearly mountain man...or is he. Benny was sent to Surrender on a vacation of sorts. A place that no one can find him and he can stay out of trouble. On the day he decides to turn over a new leaf is the same day that Snow White crashes near his cabin. These two characters had a ton of personality and history that was jammed packed into this story.  Echo comes from a pretty messed up past and Benny, well he's a fixer, just not for the best of people. Together they are explosive and bring out the better sides of each other.

This book was incredibly hot and an addicting read. While it was short it packed a punch and had a whole bunch of story in limited number of pages. This novella definitely made me want to see where these characters came from and the get the background to their lives in more detail.

HOT WITNESS - Lynn Raye Harris

Lynn Raye Harris’s HOT WITNESS (A MacKenzie Family Novella)

New York Times bestselling author Lynn Raye Harris adds her unique twist to Liliana Hart’s MacKenzie family with HOT WITNESS…

The MacKenzies partner with the Hostile Operations Team to protect a woman who witnessed a crime from a notorious mobster.

Amazon ** Barnes and Noble ** Kobo ** iBooks ** GooglePlay

This is the my first book by this author and it will absolutely not be my last. Seamlessly the HOT team entered into the MacKenzie world to send Jake Ryan back to a place he left behind years ago. He was once a member of Brothers of Sin MC he needs to go back in to help someone get out.

Eva Gray is hiding behind ink and a tattoo gun, biding her time for the moment she has been waiting for, for eight long years. But when a new/old brother rolls into town he might just ruin these plans. But while he might ruin everything he also awakens feelings Eva thought were all but dead.

A mix of suspense, sassiness and sexy this little novel had a bit of it all. I enjoyed the characters and even though we only got them for a short period of time they were full of personality and it was enough time to become connected with them. My only complaint was that I wished it was longer. This could have easily been a full length novel and would have been just as enjoyable. I enjoyed this author's story-telling and we got enough of a background into the Hostile Operations Team that made me want more of them.

WICKED HOT - Gennita Low

Gennita Low’s WICKED HOT (A MacKenzie Family Novella)

New York Times bestselling author Gennita Low adds international intrigue and suspense to Liliana Hart’s MacKenzie family with WICKED HOT…

A US operative/businessman had been kidnapped in Indonesia. He has a vital piece of information that would get the US government in trouble. But Indonesia is a country with with over 17000 islands, with plenty of jungles in which to hide.

Off-the book NSA fixer, Kirk Ryan, approaches his cousin, Archer, who works at the MacKenzie Securities for help with tracing a phone call. He also needs a translator familiar with Indonesian. Not a problem. MacKenzie Securities’ troubleshooter, Jade, has plenty of connections. In fact, there is a translator she knows who is in Indonesia right now.

Surya, GEM contract agent, really doesn’t want to do anything but lie on the heated beaches of Indonesia and just enjoy her first holiday in years. But she owes Jade Jax a favor and her friend’s calling it in. And the favor comes in a six-foot-two package of irresistible and wicked male. It’s just a translation job. She would help and maybe get to know the man for a day or two. What could go wrong?

He stood up. “Do I have to lock you out of my room so you won’t steal any more of my stuff?” he asked, looking down at her.
She sniffed. “A girl borrows something and gets this horrible reputation.” She stretched. “This bed is more comfy than mine.”
Oh, she was good. Always trying to distract him. “Nope, not falling for that again,” he said, and went to his dropped luggage.
“What are you doing?” she asked, propping her head up, watching him with narrowed eyes.
“Taking my stuff with me to the bathroom,” he told her. “I believe you got us some food. Why don’t I meet you there, across the other end of the table, just to be safe?”
“Ha ha, very funny. I’m going to short sheet your bed.”
He closed the bathroom door. Only then would he allow a small smile. Minx. Her mischievous streak was going to make his orderly life hell. Again.
He’d been out of sorts since she’d disappeared, feeling adrift when he stopped working. He’d chalked it up to some kind of strange infatuation with a mysterious woman that he’d forget about soon enough. So he’d kept busy. And with recent news and the funeral this week, life had been more serious than usual.
Surya’s sudden reappearance brought back a splash of color. This. He’d missed her vibrancy. It seemed to hold him by the neck and demand his attention. He wanted to explore why she affected him this way, why he was feeling so much lighter since walking into the suite, why knowing she was nearby made his heart clench.
He exhaled, shaking away the thoughts, then gave a low whistle at the sight of his surroundings. He was sure the bathroom was bigger than his small bedroom at home. The sink and counter stretched a mile long. The tub was a matching grey marble, tinted with gold. The shower area next to it could fit three or four people.
He looked at it longingly. Perhaps later tonight. Surya was sniffing at him like he’d been on a stuffy plane for over half a day. Which he had. He reached down and unzipped the side pocket of his carry-on, pulling out his bag of amenities. A cowboy wash and shave and a change of clothes would have to do for now. He needed to get his mind back on course to talk to Surya. He was sure she was an experienced translator between hostile negotiating parties, but he also needed to gauge her experience in locating and extracting prisoners. How good was she with weapons?
He looked around again. Could she hike in a jungle? In those hot pink panties? No fucking way.
His body reacted to the image of Surya in those panties out in the Asian jungle.
Mental groan. One ice-cold cowboy bath ahead.

Holy-moly that was an adrenaline rush from intro to end there is not a lot more than the execution of a mission. This is another example of two established worlds getting meshed together. Kirk is a NSA fixer, and he is headed on mission to help the MacKenzie's but no good mission is without it's issues. In need of a translator, GEM agent Suria is asked to help. It just so happens that there is some history between these two.

Being that we are in the midst of established characters and stories I did find it hard at times to keep up with all of the characters and the stories that go along with them. There was very little backstory on any of the characters and we are given very little time to get to know them because there is action on top of action. I did miss the lack of a romantic element, while there is definite history there was too little time for Kirk and Suria to have any sort of fleshed out involvement.

There an interest there for me to check out where these other characters came from or where they might go, because the story and action were well written.
