Hard Justice by Lori Foster
My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars
Sweet and oh so good….
“I won’t break her.”
No, Justice is all about protection. He is strong – muscles on muscles, MMA-strong – but he also knows how to treat a woman. Be it his family or his friends, he knows how to be kind, considerate, and above all, keep them safe. When he meets Fallon as part of his bodyguard duties, protecting her isn’t the problem. The issue is protecting his own heart, from her….
Stepping into this book was like meeting old friends I just hadn’t encountered yet. This is the second book in the series but the characters are larger than that, harking back to other series, stories that I’ve read and loved. It’s well-written with a wonderful blend of humour and heart with a splash and dash of suspense thrown in for good measure.
Fallon is an interesting mix of intelligence and innocence with a way about her that captures Justice’s eye right away. Justice, well… what can I say about this man who is honesty personified. Not only is he break-your-heart gorgeous on the outside but equally so on the inside. He’s a gentleman through and through and caused more than a few moments of swoony wonder as he and Fallon take their relationship beyond business…
If the premise of their meeting didn’t quite work for me, I let it quickly go as the heart, the heat, between them made details like that just seemed not that important… Funny, sweet and swoony, Justice and Fallon proved irresistible!
