War Hope by Nicole Lynne
My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars
War Hope is another emotional and lasting story from Nicole Lynn. In the follow up to War Poppy, War Hope focuses on Hope and Finn. These two, both with their scars, form an unlikely relationship.
As we delve deeper into these characters we begin to see just how rich and multi-dimensional they truly are. I struggled connecting with Hope in the first book, but as I got to know her more, I grew to love her. Selfless, funny, broken, giving, and so very human.
With Finn, we are shown another soldier and how his life is forever changed by his experiences. Unable to move on from his past, he refused to open himself to anyone or anything. Regret and sorrow become his prison. Despite the fact that he was beyond stubborn, there was just something about him that made you want to dig deeper. Heartache and loss have taken their toll on him but slowly, we see Hope chip away at those walls.
While this installment wasn't as heavy as War Poppy, it too was impactful and intense. This series grabbed ahold of my heart and refused to let go. I couldn't keep myself from getting completely caught up in this story and these characters.
