Jess's Review ~ Hyde's Absolution by Nina Levine

Hyde's Absolution (Sydney Storm MC #4)Hyde's Absolution by Nina Levine
My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars

The wait is over! Well sort of, as this story has progressed since book one, I was dying to find out more about Hyde. He comes off a bit asshole-ish, but in a good way. And he has this whole other life that I couldn't wait to hear about. This life before Storm that has left him guarded and cold and always looking for the end of a bottle.

Hyde's story did not disappoint and really should be read in the order of release or you miss out on a lot of information. There is a war brewing and we really don't know who is behind it all. The men are on a mission to put a stop to it, but Hyde needs to take care of some family business. By family business, I mean a wife and daughter that he hasn't been in contact with in many years. They of course come with all sorts of complications and nothing is ever easy for these guys.

Interesting, I didn't read the synopsis before I started reading this book, so color me surprised when we start getting Monroe's POV. Monroe is a character that we have met previously and with her comes intel on how my favorite couple is doing. Monroe is feisty and fun and has a boyfriend material checklist. Her standards are not unreasonable, they just seem unachievable given the dating pool she has been left with. Of course she has ruled out the biker population, until Hyde comes looking for information.

I liked that this was an unexpected match and called for some fancy storytelling. This book had a lot going on. There is a huge backstory that is still getting fleshed out, lives of the others that is moving along and peeks at the story that is yet to come. Hyde had a lot more to him that I thought he did. He is actually quite caring and really tries to right by everyone. Monroe is really the perfect person addition to this book. She is her own person and knows how to maneuver through all of the ups and downs. She is real and speaks her mind, her family added a ton of entertainment to the story and was at times a much needed reprieve from the heaviness of Hyde's situation and his big. bossy, alpha personality.

This book sure does set you up in a big way for what's coming and I can't wait to find out how this is all going to turn out.
