Erin's Review ~ Love in Carson Falls by Paisleigh Aumack

Love in Carson Falls (The Falls Series Book 1)Love in Carson Falls by Paisleigh Aumack
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

description

A solid debut novel from Paisleigh Aumack, Love in Carson Falls was sweet, sexy, and even a bit suspenseful. Arianna is starting her life over after a devastating loss. Moving to Carson Falls to be with her best friend is the first step in taking her life back. She never knew places like this or people like River Bradshaw existed. River is the chief of the fire department and a single dad whose love for his daughter is undeniable. Meeting Arianna Morgan was definitely not in the plans but that doesn't make her any less intriguing. As these two get to know one another, it's impossible to deny their chemistry.
Ari and River were endearing characters. Ari had been through so much and she was fighting to move on from the pain of the past. Seeing her change throughout the story was hopeful and inspiring. River was such a good guy, his alpha tendencies seemed a bit much in sensitive situations but you could see he tried to tone them down. He was an amazing father and he worked hard to let Ari know she had a place with them. And then we've got little Cadence. I couldn't get enough of that kid. She was too cute for words.
I enjoyed the way Aumack wove some mystery and suspense into the story. She created a sense of unease for us, making the book impossible to put down. I did feel that there wasn't really enough talk about Arianna's ex, Andrew. After everything that happened, I expected there to be more there. Hopefully some of those loose ends are tied up in subsequent installments.
Side characters played a large role in this story. Strong foundations are laid out for future books. I'm eager to find out the stories behind these couples and to see where they are headed.
I laughed, I let some tears fall, I was captivated, and I most definitely swooned! I'm excited for more from this series!
