Lynzi's Review ~ Where the Night Ends by Melissa Toppen

Where the Night EndsWhere the Night Ends by Melissa Toppen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 star, Lynzi

Emotional. Raw. Intriguing. Gut-renching. Heart-tightening. Throat-clogging.

Those are just a few words that raced through my mind as I thought of this story. I know Melissa Toppen's work is amazing, but this one blew my mind. More so than the last book I read by her. And this is just my second book by her, and my goodness, I am hooked!

This story made my heart break and come alive all at the same time. It was an amazing emotion roller-coaster ride I didn't want to get off of. I literally could not stop reading. Even when my eyes started to cross, and the words started to blur, I had to push on. I HAD to keep going. It started out as a 'one more chapter' thing. Then turned into an 'I only have 30% left', '20%', '10%'. And at 2am it was a 'dayum I might as well just finish it. It is the fastest I have ever read a book that long. I'm kinda disappointed that I read it so fast though, because now it's over, and I want more.

Sebastian is the high school star quarterback who has everything a kid could want along with a line of girls following in his wake. He doesn't date, he hooks up and let's go. His life looks perfect on the outside. He's popular, rich, and never wants for anything. But things aren't always as the seem. His life isn't nearly as perfect as everyone thinks. That is, until he meets Tessa, and she changes everything.

With Tessa suffering a broken heart over her cheating ex, going to a party where he will most likely be, is the last thing she wants to do. But she can't win when it comes to the relentlessness of her best friends. Little did she know her night and life would change all in a span of a few hours.

Their love isn't easy, even at their young ages, but it is beautiful. Even through all the heartache, pain, betrayal, and disappointments, it's still beautiful.

"It's about where the night ends."
