Jess's Review ~ The Ultimate Sin by Jillian Quinn

The Ultimate Sin (Sins of the Past, #2)The Ultimate Sin by Jillian Quinn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Well, well, well...I didn't see all that coming.

This is book two in the Sins of the Past series and you cannot read it without reading book one first. We pick up right about where we left off with Gia missing and Angelo on a rampage. This book was just as fast-paced and dark as the first. I read it one sitting because I had to find out who was behind the madness and who was going to die in the process.

Gia needs to survive her new predicament, one that she has no idea why she is in. She is left in the dark as we are trying to figure out who is behind her new home. She is a fighter though and won't go down easily. She knows that she just needs to bide her time because Angelo will find her. But that is easier said than done.

Angelo, while ruthless in the first book has taken his darkness to whole new level in this book. He will not sleep, nor eat while he paints the city red. He becomes problematic as he searches for the truth and continues to rack up more and more sins. Who will pay for these sins? We have yet to find out but you know that somewhere down the line all this trouble isn't going to be good for anyone.

We are kept guessing throughout this book because there are a lot of players who could be responsible but none of them make sense. There just seemed to be something off about each conclusion and it's not until the very end that things start to make sense. This book felt faster than the first one and I don't know if it was because I had this burning desire to see who was behind it or just that everything seemed to move faster. And while some questions are answered, there seems to be more trouble coming for these brothers. There were a few things left unresolved and I am dying to know how it all will play out later.
