Lynzi's Review ~ Scarred by Amanda Leigh

Scarred (Beauty of the Dark, #1)Scarred by Amanda Leigh
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars

It's been a while since I have read a paranormal book. Paranormal is one of my top favorite genres, so I was excited to get into this one. AND I LOVED IT!!!

When there is a new power I'm her town, Kiara plans to find out just what it is. With being a witch she can sense these types of things. She also can sense, it's not just a little power, but a very strong one. With the help of her Aunt Abby, who is also a witch, and her sworn guardian, Kaleib, who is a vampire, they set out to come up with a plan. What they discover is that it's a very old, very powerful demon. Kiara knows that they will need help. But what she didn't know, was that it would come in the most unlikely person.

Trent is drawn to a small town for some unknown reason. Since he is a vampire he can sense power on a certain level. One night he hears a voice and is instantly drawn to it. He never thought the person who has the voice of an angel, is actually a young powerful witch. Now did he know she was being looked after by his enemy, Kaleib. Him and Kaleib haven't seen each other for many many years. But those years weren't quite long enough. When Kiara asks Trent for help, for some reason he can't say no.

It's dangerous but something has to be done about the demon, especially since it's leave dead bodies in its wake. Neither Trent nor Kiara thought they would have feelings for each other, but the more time they spend together, the more they feel. Both fighting against their feelings, is becoming second nature to them. But it's definitely getting harder.

I love Kiara and all her feistiness. She doesn't back down easily and she doesn't scare easy. She stands up for what she thinks and what she wants to do. Her loyalty runs deep, when it comes to those she loves. She is just awesome.

Trent is the bad boy you can't help but love. From the beginning I knew there was more to him and his feud with Kaleib. I just couldn't figure out what. I can't wait to see more of who Trent really is, because you only saw glimpses through this one. I feel like there is so much more too him.

The ending!! Let me just say... F that ending. I was pissed!!! I couldnt, I still can't, deal with that. I don't know how I want to take that. And I definitely don't want to wait for book 2, but I guess I'm gonna have to. :(
