Jess's Review ~ Disgraced by Natasha Knight

My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars

A forbidden romance; with some suspense, a whole lot of dirty and two stellar characters.

I met these characters before; Raphael's twin and soon to be priest, Damon and Sophia's younger sister the musical genius, Katalina, where first introduced in the last book. We say glimpses of their lives through their siblings but nothing can quite prepare you for who they are today. They first meet while she is a teenager and he is on track to being ordained. Fast-forward four years and he is still searching for something and she is not where she is supposed to be.

Secrets and lies is how Lina begins this story. She has grown up and gotten herself into a rough spot. Refusing to seek out help from anyone she plans to get out of her problems alone. While Damon doesn't know the full extend of what her real problems are, he is driven to help her even though he should take many steps back.

These two characters are drawn together but their interest in each other is forbidden. Damon struggles with his faith and with his heart. He is not what I expected. He is like a dirty and untamed pieces of forbidden fruit. Lina trapped in her situation, but with a feisty attitude and a craving for something dark, her world is about to get a bit more complicated.

I enjoyed where the suspense part of the story went, it doesn't feel resolved though because it just seems to have worked out a bit too nicely. Maybe I'm wrong and that piece of the story is over but I still feel like there are some lose ends. I definitely enjoyed the forbidden edge to the story and the story that brought these two together. Even though there was a lot of back and forth, push and pull, tension and indecision it made this read exciting and one I just wanted to be left alone to finish. There is still another brother in this family and I am hoping his mysteries get uncovered next.
