WANTED: Single dad needs nanny--In more ways than one.
Martin "Brick" Bricker is living the good life. He's playing the sport he loves, has all the women he can handle, and parties like a rock star. At twenty-six, he has no interest in slowing down or taking anything seriously--except hockey, of course.
Then a knock at his door changes everything.Suddenly he's the single father to a five-year-old daughter he didn't know he had, and he's trading his playboy ways for Barbies.
Amelia Stacey struggles to make ends meet and juggles her day-care job with a full load of college classes. When she's offered a temporary, two-week nanny position making more money than she imagines, she jumps at the chance. Before she knows it, she's in over her head, not just with her five-year-old charge but with the girl's hot single father.
Brick always goes after what he wants, and he wants Amelia. Only responsible Amelia doesn't want anything to do with the party boy. Struggling with fatherhood and his unexplainable attraction to his nanny, Brick has to figure out where his daughter and Amelia fit into his life.If they fit at all.
But one thing's for sure: Brick can't block this shot straight to his heart.

4 of 5 stars

If you like a good sports romance with a cocky leading man and an opinionated but very caring leading lady then this is a must read.

Brick and Amelia seem like total opposites on the surface. They seem like a pair that could never possibly work. Brick is single and embraces his bachelor status while Amelia has suffered a recent heartbreak and yet still knows she's looking for a forever type of guy. Brick's bachelor ways change the minute the five-year-old daughter he didn't know about shows up at his door. This turn of events means he needs a nanny to take care of his daughter during his busy hockey season and Amelia just so happens to be perfect for the job. But the more time they spend together the more Amelia realizes that Brick isn't as shallow as he seems, and Brick realizes there is more to life than his next good time.

Out of all of the different type of sports and players there are to swoon over I honestly didn't expect hockey players to be such a draw for me. However this author managed to write some pretty darn sexy hockey players. There was definitely more to Brick the more you got to know him and I liked the fact that it was easy to see what Amelia saw in him. It wasn't all physical attraction being confused for love. He actually had different facets to his personality that made him very lovable. And even when you wanted to shake him, you knew that there were underlying reasons for his bad behavior and it helped balance things out.

Amelia on the other hand was just one of those leading ladies that you didn't have to struggle to find things to like about her. She was instantly recognizable as a caring individual. She was driven to finish school, she obviously had a very big heart that she was more than happy to share not only with Brick's daughter but with the other children that she came into contact with throughout the book. It was heartbreaking to hear certain parts of her story but it all added to the overall relatability of the character.

I found myself really enjoying this story and would not hesitate to read more from this author.
