Diane's Review ~ Nearest Thing to Heaven by Lynnette Austin

Nearest Thing to Heaven (Maverick Junction, #2)Nearest Thing to Heaven by Lynnette Austin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

My love affair with Maverick Junction continues…

How can you resist a handsome cowboy, a widower with triplet four-year boys? I couldn’t! And didn’t in this second outing where family, friendship and romance is on offer and that offer is good! Annie and Cash are getting married and not only did I get to reacquaint myself with them and their family and friends but learn more about cousin Sophie and neighbour Ty.

Written with the same easy, funny and emotional style of the first instalment, my heart was tugged even more when adorable little boys and irresistible four-legged critters were thrown into the mix. And did I mention Ty was this easy-going, handsome and charming cowboy? He was struggling to move on from the loss of his wife but Sophie was going to challenge every part of his reluctance. And that challenge was full of undeniable heat and home truths that were met with city and country fire…

Sophie shared many of the same traits as her cousin and being a city girl was one of them! Charmed by everything in this small Texas town, Ty was high on the ‘what’s not to love’ list. They were going to battle their own assumptions on what was right for themselves and that meant a courtship with warmth and angst in equal measure.

Their story was a hug wrapped in a piece of apple pie – and it was delicious! And what’s even better, Maggie and Brawley’s story is up next. Their cat and mouse game is coming to a head…
