Review Tour ~ Sick Remedies by NAtalie Bennett

Title: Sick Remedies
Duet: Pretty Lies, Ugly Truths Duet #2
Author: Natalie Bennett
Genre: NA Dark Romance
Release Date: December 12, 2019
Obsession. Heartbreak. Turmoil.

That's how this story begins
Sick fixation…
Wicked temptation…
Cracked facades slowly expose everything we hid from the other.
All the pretty lies bleed into ugly truths.
Rhett Sullivan?
He doesn't exist.
And Nova Markov?
She's dead.

This is the follow-up to Sweet Poisons and it held most of the answers I was waiting for. You must read book one first and I actually had to go back to it because it had been a while between the two books.

This does pick up where book one leaves you hanging and does answer many of the questions that had been left, I do feel like this are not all resolved though. The book ends fairly abruptly and I was left unsettled. It was like a happy for now, while not really happy because the book is not sunshine and roses it is more like blood and thorns.

We had two very dysfunctional characters who are both a bit twisted and tortured in their own ways. Together Nova and Rhett are like a bomb going off. Nova is not the innocent girl she let people believe she was. Rhett is still the deadly leader he was before, but his story a bit more fleshed out. This book answers some of what everyone was hiding, it was bloody and held the right amount of suspense and darkness.

I have read a number of books from this author and I come to expect the craziness she puts on paper. This world is far from done and the other characters have stories to tell. I look forward to seeing what kind of havoc they will cause next.
Natalie Bennett is the creator of erotic stories that always come with a warning label. She writes about depraved alpha a**holes and women that love to hate them. Her books don't follow any specific tropes, have no set word counts, and tend to deviate from traditional HEA's.
When she isn't in front of her computer she's spending time with her husband and their three little boys.
Natalie is an avid fan of caramel frappes, horror movies, Shameless, and of course, reading.
